{Weddings} Catherine and Yani

Last weekend we had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Catherine and Yani. It was an honor to be a part of their day, and we had a lot of fun documenting it for them. The ceremony and reception were held at Catherine’s parents house, whose backyard was turned into a wedding day oasis.

Catherine is a girl after my own heart. She chose purple as her accent/theme color. When she brought me into her room to show me her dress the day before the wedding, she pointed to the painted purple walls around her and said, “See, I told you I had a thing for purple.” I happen to have a thing for purple too, and my room back at my parents’ house is painted almost the exact same shade of purple as her room.

A little Vera Wang for the wedding day:

Catherine, you were a beautiful bride!

Yani’s first glimpse.

We snuck a couple minutes after the ceremony to snap a few of the newly minted Mr. and Mrs.:

A perfect ending to a beautiful day, a fireworks display:

{Wedding} Megan and Bryan

It was almost a birth of sorts. Nine months of planning and preparing, and in this case, the fruits of labor being a beautiful wedding.  Another member of the family was officially added last weekend at my sister Megan’s wedding to Bryan at Oak Knoll Country Club in Hammond, La.  I blogged about their engagement session here.

Although never having had shot a wedding before, we decided we’d embark on this adventure with them.  Decided to walk into the lion’s den, or, jump in with both feet, as it were. It was a great experience, and we learned a lot!

Big shout out to my cousin Trey Harrison for helping us out. We look forward to collaborating again one day!

Megan, you were a beautiful bride!

I love this shot Trey got of the groom Bryan right before the ceremony.

A great candid during the ceremony captured by Trey.

Trey’s angle of “the kiss”.

Let the party begin!

They ended the night with a second line parade of sorts followed by shouts of “Who Dat!?”

Megan, I’m glad I could be a part of your special day! Love you.
